On 5th september I did my tooth canal treatment. Since then my tooth and whole mouth is paining and this pain reaches till my ears. On 9th september I went to my doctor and she just did some leveling of tooth and gave me antibiotic called moxyvit forte 500 , till now I have taken 6 tablets plus optalgin which is pain killer…..today is 11th september, I got up with fever….I took some common tablet for fever and came to work.
How long this is going to continue….please tell me is this normal or something is wrong with my treatment. Thanks for your help
I thank you all for your quick responses, I am on my way to the dentist ,as you all said not to delay anymore……thanks again..

Go back to the dentist now! My sister had some kind of funky infection that sounds like what you are describing - it can be very dangerous. Call your dentist NOW!

    2. Your more then likely still fighting off the infection. If you start to swell, and the fever continues. I would contact the dentist again. Right now sounds like they are waiting for you to get the anitbotics in your system.

    3. It is not right. You should not have any pain and should not need antibiotics. Go to another doctor without much delay because an infected tooth can give a lot of bad problems [complications: regional or systemic infections]. It should be a relatively easy fix by a good dentist.

This happened to me 1 time and I went to a different Dentist and I still had 1 root left in the stupid tooth had to have a root canal again, fixed Problem. But I had to pay again for another root canal.

I work for an endodontist “root canal specialist” if a general dentist did your root canal I would suggest you see an endodontist for his/her expertise. Soreness and discomfort is normal sometimes up to two weeks after the treatment but swelling and sever pain is not.

#1 Rule-When in need of a Root Canal always see a Endodontist!! I worked for a Endodontist for 7 years and you would not believe the retreats we did. Endodontist have the proper equiptment and are specialized in that field, a good microscope is always a good thing!!
