How long should pain in broken tooth last?

My dentist was drilling my tooth to complete root treatment and half the tooth cracked and fell off, he said i would experience discomfort, this was exactly 7 days ago.. should it still feel uncomfortable? its just a bit uncomfortable and when i wiggle it or chew on it it is sore. is this normal?
Sorry i meant he did crown it!!! its been crowned but its just still uncomfortable!

Is there ANY good medicine or temporary treatment for a REALLY big toothache?

…it’s more like the whole right side of my jaw. I have NEVER felt so much consistent pain. All the dentists are closed until tomorrow morning and I need help now! I am taking maximum strength orajel and strong pain killers but it still hurts!! PLEASE HELP
